What are some best practices when implementing SafeEntry with NRIC?
Updated
If you have barcode scanners at your business location, we recommend that you set them up with your laptop for faster scanning and to reduce handphone battery drain.
Download and print the SafeEntry with NRIC posterto display prominently at your scanning entrance and exit zones. This will inform your visitors on i) the acceptable photo ID types, ii) the correct positioning to scan their photo ID, and iii) alternatives if they do not have a photo ID.
Inform visitors in the queue to have his/her photo ID ready. Advise them to take the photo ID out of any plastic cover that may hinder the view of the barcode.
Inform visitors to show the ID with the barcode side facing the camera or the scanner, and not to hand the ID over to the staff. This is to protect both your visitors and your staff.
Bring additional battery packs if you are scanning photo IDs with your mobile devices as the camera function consumes more power and the battery will deplete faster than usual.
When doing "Visitor Check-in", you may have numerous staff on rotation manning an entrance/exit. It is recommended to login once a day using the Entrance Name as the Login name (instead of Staff's Full Name). If there are staff changes in the day, use the same login if possible. This will allow you to aggregate your visitor numbers per entrance per day.
