Update: Starting on 26 April, most venues no longer require check-ins. Only larger events with more than 500 participants at any one time, and certain nightlife establishments, require the public to check in with their TraceTogether App or Token for VDS checks. Venues that want to use the SafeEntry Gateway feature for VDS checks should set up the SafeEntry (Business) App. For more details, see this press release.
Venues should deploy them at entrances that fulfill the following criteria:
- Main entrances: Entrances which visitors use to enter venues. For example, shopping malls should deploy SEGW at each main entrance.
- Manned entrances: A mall should only deploy SEGW Box at entrances where enforcement personnel are present. Closed entrances should not have SEGWs.
- Public-facing entrances: SEGW need not be deployed at non-customer-facing entrances, such as staff entrances, goods delivery entrances, fire escape exits.
